Falling

I love to draw and paint fantasy creatures. I had the idea of a creature falling down from some water plant into the waves of the water. I did this with acrylic paint markers, again on stone paper.

Artistro Paint Markers

Some days ago I bought a 30 pen pack Acrylic paintmarkers from Artistro. I bought them from Amazon, during their prime days, and saved quite a bit of money. I had done a bit of a research on YouTube about them, and in general they get  pretty good reviews.
The painting above was done primarily with those new acrylic markers, and I must say, that I am quite pleased with them. I am looking forward to the next painting using them!

Summer Flowers

I love my acrylic paint markers because of their vivid colours. This painting was done again on stone paper. I am so happy that I bought this paper some years ago! It had been hiding in one of my drawers, but now I am certain that I will have used it up in a few weeks!

Acrylic markers on Stone Paper

Until the moment I bought a pad of stone paper I'd never heard of this special kind of paper. I've used it for alcoholbased markers, but now I found out that it is a very good paper for acrylic paintmarkers. It is very smooth, and the acrylic ink does not suck in. Here's the definition of it:

Stone Paper products, generically referred to as bio-plastic papermineral paper or rich mineral paper, are strong and durable paper-like material manufactured from calcium carbonate bonded with small amount of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin. They are used in many of the same applications as cellulose-based paper.

Summer Colours

I am really enjoying my Acrylic Paintmarkers. I bought two additional Molotow pens, and used one of the new pens in this painting. It is called "Turquoise", but there is only a very light touch of blue in the green ink. I still haven't tried to fill my new Schmincke liner pen with some mixed acrylic ink, though. I got some Molotow refill bottles, and some Schmimcke and Royal Talens Acrylic Ink. I am thinking about colour combinations but cannot bring myself to actually try them out. Maybe the heat?...

Painting Trees with Acrylic Markers

I have the impression that the number of artists who do paintings with Acrylic Markers are quite limited. So I was very glad when I found "Angela Pan Art" on YouTube. She does beautiful landscapes and architecture with them. Her videos are easy to understand and to follow - even for me as someone with English as a second language.
The above video is about painting trees with Acrylic markers - and I find it extremely helpful and inspiring. Enjoy the video!

Birdie

This painting is another example of my digital adventures. This time I took a vector drawing that I had done in Inkscape, imported it into Krita and worked on it. The outcome varies very much from the original inkscape drawing / painting.

Latte Macchiato in the Morning

It has been a week now that you can have a drink or a coffee outside the restaurant without having to show your negative Covid-Test. What a bliss! You can enjoy the summer, the drinks, the delicious food, the people again. Suddenly, something which we all thought was a normal way of spending time has become something very special,,,

Happy Colours

I did this painting with my acrylic paint markers. I first did a colour chart with all the markers I have - Posca pens, Molotow markers, Liquitex acrylic paint marker, Royal Talens paint marker). I then noticed that my colour range is a bit lopsided - I got numerous pens in shades of blue, but only one pen in red, and two green acrylic pens. I now want to get more pens in other colours resp. I want to buy those empty markers and fill them with my acrylic inks.
In the meantime I have to do with the colours I've got...

Coloured Doodle

I have got a nice little sketchbook which I actually haven't used much. It is very small (DIN A 6, about the size of a postcard). Here I just tried to doodle and colourize the doodle with my stabilo pens. As the stabilo pens have the same vivid colours as acrylic paintmarkers have those colour combinations can be easily transferred onto the paintmarkers. I must admit, that I don't like every colour combination in the doodle above; but there are some which I like and would like to repeat with paintmarkers: the turquoise blue and the blue and the violet and the dark blue for example. But as it is just now it looks like I have to fill up my range of paintmarkers - I do not have turquoise and violet acrylic markers (yet!)...

Doors

That kind of doors can be found in the Northern part of Germany. As far as I can remember I took this photo in the Hanseatic city of Rostock, a town located at the Baltic Sea.
